1934 ALFA ROMEO 6C 2300 “MONZA STYLE”

A superb example of Alfa Romeo’s pre-war engineering excellence, restored and finished in the evocative 8C Monza competition style.

First introduced in 1934, the 6C 2300 was the next evolution of Alfa Romeo’s celebrated six-cylinder line. With its advanced 2,309cc engine and immediate success in endurance racing, it quickly became a favourite among privateers and coachbuilders alike. These chassis provided the foundation for some of the most stylish and competitive cars of the pre-war era.

This particular car began life as a 1934 6C 2300 Worblaufen Cabriolet. Sourced from Switzerland in 2011, it was selected specifically as the basis for a no-expense-spared restoration. Entrusted to renowned marque expert Neil Twyman, the project was carried out over two years, during which the original Cabriolet body was removed (and is retained with the car) and a new hand-crafted aluminium body was created in the iconic 8C Monza racing style.

The mechanicals were equally rebuilt to the highest standard, with the engine, gearbox and chassis all restored, the gearbox receiving close-ratio gearing for more spirited performance. Period-correct detailing — including foldable windscreen, aero screens, original-style instruments and leather cockpit — complete the authenticity of the build.

Enhancing the car further, a 2.6-litre engine was later commissioned and installed by specialist Setford & Company, offering more power while preserving the usability of the car. Importantly, the original matching-numbers 2.3-litre engine is supplied with the sale.

Presented today in Rosso Alfa, this 6C 2300 Monza-Style is a magnificent fusion of Alfa Romeo’s competition heritage and world-class modern restoration. Eligible for some of the world’s most prestigious historic events, it is equally at home in a discerning collection or on the open road.
