1934 ALFA ROMEO 8C MONZA 3-Litre RECREATION
An outstanding evocation of Alfa Romeo’s legendary pre-war competition car, built to the highest standards including FIA papers.
The Alfa Romeo 8C of the 1930’s is widely regarded as one of the greatest sports racing cars of all time. Vittorio Jano’s design evolved from the proven six-cylinder 1750 and, with the addition of a Roots-type supercharger, transformed output by nearly 70% to 142bhp, cementing the 8C’s reputation as one of the dominant competition cars of its era.
This superb recreation has been constructed to the highest standards by renowned Alfa Romeo specialists Setford & Company of Droxford, Hampshire. The chassis, body and running gear were sourced from Colin Howard in Christchurch, New Zealand — a highly respected authority in pre-war Alfa Romeo components — while the engine and transmission were entrusted to Jim Stokes Workshops, one of the world’s leading names in Alfa competition engineering.
Enhancing the experience beyond original specification, the engine has been enlarged to 3 litres, delivering an impressive 260bhp on the rolling road at Setford’s. This ensures thrilling performance while retaining complete period authenticity in appearance and construction.
Presented in excellent condition with very few miles since completion, and supplied with full FIA papers, this car offers its next custodian the rare opportunity to experience the legendary Alfa Romeo Monza — whether for fast road touring or competitive historic racing at the world’s most prestigious events.
